Well, seems like I can do some minor catch up here since the holidays are now over.
1 - Employment [WARNING: Rant Ahead]Holy crap... The holidays were killer for me this year with me working on the floor instead of the registers, but even with just the flooring/decor department, some customers can be completely stubborn. No matter what you tell them, they will always insist that they are right and that they are the ones who are paying for my paycheck and should be giving them things their way. There are rules against this for the safety of the associates and the customers, which they do not seem to understand. We also cannot rush installations because, let's face it, installers also have their own schedules and the scheduling is done through them, not us. Oh, and let's not get into the boxes of broken tiles we get because of the way they are possibly handled during shipping. Had to mark down so many of the more expensive wood-looking ceramics and that was PAINFUL! But, on a lighter note, I'm already starting pretty strong with sales, so that's always a plus. Not to mention, being able to speak Mandarin and Taiwanese in Asian-centric Baldwin Park is a plus, especially for those who have just immigrated from Asia. Though, I think I might have Mom or a few other people from Church teach me Cantonese, and maybe a bit of Tagalog from some people I've met online through gaming to add to my language resume. I've noticed that there are a lot of customers that speak Canto and, unfortunately for me, I can only understand a little bit but have to ask them to communicate with me in Mandarin. We'll see how this goes though.
2 - Second Goal Near CompletionOk, so I'm pretty stoked. As soon as I can register, if I pass my spring class, I'll have my Tradigital Level 1 certificate from Mt. San Antonio College (Mt. SAC) completed! With that done, I'll be able to do small internships or part-time animation jobs. That being said, all I need left after spring semester are two more classes (I'll split that into Fall '17 and Spring '18 since I do have to work to pay the bills for these classes! D: Otherwise, I'd knock both out in the Fall!) and I'll have my Tradigital Level 2 done. From there, I'm debating if I want to take the rest of the classes and finish up the major, which I think is about... 10 more classes? I dunno, I have to check on this one. If it's too much and it really clashes with my work schedule, I think I'll stop at Tradigital Level 2 and start looking for another job on the side. That, or start up my own little craft/trinket shop. We'll see what goes on.
3 - RomanceOh man... Time flies when you're spending time with the one you love, and I will have to wholly agree to that. It will be three years of dating in February on the 10th with my beloved bounty hunter (I like calling him that, and he just calls me his birdie-bun <3). We're still learning a lot from each other and may still have some disagreements here and there, but that's all part of the relationship. I pray that God will continue to Bless our relationship through 2017.
4 - World of WarcraftI'm actually taking a break from this. Think it's just the slump of recovering from holidays and whatnots. Hopefully, I'll be raring to go when the next raid drops, which is Nighthold. Then again, is my item level even ready...? Err... Might have to log in and check on that... XD
5 - Art and StoriesAs you may have noticed, I have become a bit more active in my drawings, though most are originals from the story DeadeyeClark and I are writing together,
Flight of the Falcon.
For those who don't know,
Flight of the Falcon (or
FotF) is a pretty large story that explains several things that happened between the time of
Corruption: The Aftermath (or
CTA) up until present-day in the
Reality's Exile Role-Play universe. The reason for this are several-fold.
- During the time RE was working on CTA, I had disappeared from the messageboard for personal reason, leaving the board for at least 3 or 4 years due to real life issues. So, CTA was left at a stand-still, but instead of ignoring the story, the members had begun to use it as a major turning point for the RE universe. So, it has been left up in the air as to what happened to the people who had partaken in the story. Most had written that they had left the mission because it became too dangerous or they had come up with a temporary ending to it so that there was some continuity with the universe. Needless to say, the universe today actually looks pretty well-rounded and opens up to a lot of stories as to what happened post-CTA.
- I needed an explanation for my characters as to why they disappeared for such a long amount of time. I play several characters, my two mains being Captain Falcon and Jessie Falcon [My OC], and I control most of anything that is related to the F-Zero franchise on the board to make sure there is consistency when also trying to line it up with the Metroid franchise timeline. This includes Galaxy Police, its racing team High Orbit from the Falcon Densetsu/GP Legends/Climax timeline (Though, I do modify it to make more sense in our RE universe) and other tidbits I tend to pull from here and there. Flight of the Falcon addresses a lot of loose ends for the factions that I play easily. Namely, my characters had been living in another system for the last few years due to complications of living on Earth. That made it simple enough in case I ever wanted to return to the role-playing scene.
- After talking with DeadeyeClark for a while, he managed to coax me into returning to Reality's Exile. At first, I was skeptical since I left without warning and I had a... not so nice feeling towards one of the admins. After being told what had happened in my absence and learning that the admin I had issues with left, I returned to RE to take a look around and check things out. Needless to say, it is much quieter than before but the stories are still just as high-quality as they were when I left. Thankfully, my old CTA story was still there and I had all the Word files with the plots for it on my desktop. So, after reviewing the original FotF, DeadeyeClark and I decided that this would be my return story to tie off any loose ends that might exist as a result of CTA and pave the way to more stories in the future that I will be participating in.
- While writing FotF (Currently, we're working on Chapter 23. The previous chapters can be read on the Reality's Exile Role-Play, as well as other stories worked on by other members of the board), DeadeyeClark and I were talking about the future of RE, as well as factions that might have sprung up during my absence. He was also talking to me about how his character, Travis Clark, might eventually have his own bounty hunting company while still being registered under the Bounty Hunters' Guild (or BHG), a faction that DeadeyeClark controls but also allows other people to affiliate with since it makes more sense that way. So, we will see how this one works and how it will effect the universe.
- Flight of the Falcon also paves way to a series that you guys may have noticed I have been tagging some of my works with, namely "Crosshairs", or the full name "Crosshairs Company." This is a sub-series of stories that takes place in the RE universe that DeadeyeClark and I are writing that focuses mainly on Travis and his family, side missions, and other interesting things that may happen outside the main RE storyline. Unlike the RE stories, however, they do address a variety of issues that are present today, such as drug usage, human trafficking, bullying... Basically issues that society has that need to be talked about and dealt with. I'm not so sure about putting these stories up, but if I do, it will probably either be here or on fanfiction.net, which I will put up links.
So, fast forward a few years later, and while cleaning up my computer, I had run into a very old Word document I had started towards my 7th year in college (I had to take a break and I switched majors). I opened it and read the contents of it, not knowing that it would eventually become the foundation to what is now known as
Flight of the Falcon.
Think that's all I have to update for now.
Much love, and happy drawing/hunting until next time ~
PS: Not sure if I should sub to DeviantART... Maybe I'll do that after I get some of these bills paid off! XD
